Storytelling & Movie Review : Accepted (2006)

Accepted is a movie that tells the story of post-high school graduation which was catastrophic for the protagonist, in this concern, he was rejected and refused by all the tertiary higher educational organizations or universities to where he applied, he suggested to his parents to finish his education at high school graduate level, but his father and mother forced him to go to college, the result for that problem was to get an acceptation by a fake university, by the help of some alter alia more rejected students he started by a fake website, fake admission letter, fake university building, then fake staff, and deceit victim real students among the protagonist and his fakely registered student friends team, after hiring a dean, they receive the visit of a real university represented by its dean with police agents at parents day, after that, the team of the protagonist applies for registery as South Hampton Institute of Technology, then in the court, he finally succeeds at persuading the judges that his way is maybe different than the other university which engineered that fraud stop in a legal way by the help of police and court decisions, except that at the said fake university, they have a dean and professor by the same time and they have several students participating in studies, they have a curriculum at their way, some of the things they want to study are known as the main idea of branch of study is explicitly revealed, they don't have a library, they have not employed team of professors, but still his way of designing a university is liked by the judges, especially his pattern of giving freedom to people in approaching the studies, students in his pedagogy study at their pace, the story is intriguing, its target audience is mainly students and professors, in general we can limit it to education's related professionals and tertiary education students as well as we can include law related professionals, the effects on society differ but we can say that one is that more thinking about orientation is given especially in its deep, it implies additionally further reflexions about education and pedagogy, it gives opportunity for thinking about the legacy of such organisation, therefore, it also opens the mind to law related questions.

The movie used the vulnerabity of the judges to such situation because of their will of doing other things whilst they were kids conducted the fake university to exist much longer and to win the battle against the antagonist which is the other legal univesity, the narrative is made that way, it's a style of narrative which goes beyond reality as no fake university in our days could exist and no fake students exist in real, thus, the narrative uses a story which is an exceptional case, rare, this case is very exagered seen the number of students victim to the fraud, also because the tribunal lets it exist in the denouement that are unexpected events which build suspense, the climax when the fake univeresity received a warning, it was excpected, but that's the only main event in that movie which is most close to reality, the actor who have played the role of the dean at the fake university is a well talented comedian, we can add to that that this role in the screenplay was greatly structured., editing wasn't too much advanced to deceit the audience, rhythmic editing followed a certain constant speed in the narratology, this is due to the genre which is comedy, no special effects were used, sound was used to assure fluid translations between scenes and to give life and express feelings and attitudes of actors, sound is revealing a certain psychology choosed in narrative style and approaches.

It's a movie that communicates that in a student's life, there are obstacles, the student must struggle to keep developing his/her abilities and capacities in terms of knowledge, it also insists that even if something is illegal or against nature and unusual, if it may help the one pursue his goals and live a better life, it can be the best choice to do.
